Dan Rowbottom has changed teams for the upcoming 2026 season.
After moving to NAPA (Alliance Racing) in 2023, he doubled both his career wins and podiums in just that season.
Since then, the 36-year-old has undergone heart surgery, but came back better than ever to complete his best season to date in 2025.
For his 2026 campaign, Rowbottom will drive the Mercedes-AMG A35 Saloon, a small switch from his Ford Focus ST, which he had driven for 3 seasons. The Mercedes is designed and built by engineering outfit RML.
Joining the multiple race winner at Plato Racing is Cataclean. These two have enjoyed a lot of success over the years, both on and off track.
Speaking to the BTCC, Rowbottom said: “This is without a doubt the biggest move of my career so far.
“The deal has been in the works for a while, and as you would expect with Jason being involved, everything is being done properly and to the highest of levels.
“I’m excited to be stepping into that role of leading a team and driving it forward.”
Jason Plato, owner of Plato Racing, said: “We are very excited to have Dan and Cataclean as part of Plato Racing for 2026 and beyond.
“I’m confident that Plato Racing, with Dan and Cataclean in board, will be a true force in the BTCC this coming season.”
