Ducati podium as Aprilia DNF at turn one

After yesterday’s sprint race, Motogp seemed to be heading into a good race for the main feature race today. Who will take the checkered flag first?

Green Flag waved

Marc Marquez had an okay get away from the line but had to come across to cut off Pedro Acosta.

Jorge Martin had a twitch on his bike while going into the first corner which meant he went down but took four drivers with him. Marco Bezzechi, Fermin Aldeguer, Raul Fernandez and Fabio Di Giannantonio. Di Giannantonio managed to get back on his bike to fight his way back to P12.

Marquez and Acosta were fighting most of the race, with Acosta sliding past Marquez to take the lead.

Lap six however, Enea Bastianini went wide and as he came back onto the line he hit the bike of Joan Mir, Bastianini received a long lap penalty for the contact.

Lap 14 saw Marquez and Acosta trading places with Acosta coming out on top after going down the inside of Marc, with a bit of contact towards the end of the lap both drivers still gave it their all.

Lap 16 saw Joan Mir go down after the front of his bike folds under him.

After Marquez’s move on Acosta, he made his way to P1 with teammate Pecco Bagnia seemingly had a lonely race in P3.

Fabio Quatararo recide a long lap penalty for taking a short cut on track and not taking the time back he gained, Maverick Viñales also received a long lap penalty for the same thing.

Quatararo decided enough was enough and pitted from P16 to retire from the race.

With Marc Marquez taking the win, he became only the third driver to take 100 Grand Prix wins.

Can Aprilia bring it back at Bruno or will Ducati keep them on their toes?
