After three chaotic practise sessions in the principality, Ferrari are looking to continue their fast pace as they head into qualifying.
Green flag waved for Q1
Cars were queuing in the pitlane awaiting the green light for them to make their way on to the track and the drivers wasted no time.
The first 10 minutes were without issues as all cars made their way around the Monaco streets, Kimi Antonelli had a big moment at Tabac but managed to keep it out of the wall and continued with his lap. Teammate George Russell struggled all session and wasn’t able to get a respectable time in, the British driver didn’t seem to be at one with the car.
With two minutes to go, Gabi Bortolteo made contact with the wall at the Nouvelle Chicane, which led to a broken front suspension causing the first and only red flag of the session.
Green light for Q2
Q2 went by without any issues, a few slides from drivers as they push into the corners but all drivers keeping it clean. Alex Albon brushed the wall going into the swimming pool section but managed to keep it going.
Final session is live
The McLaren boys led us out for the final session of qualifying and both drivers did a double warm up lap to help get their tyres up to temperature.
Provisional pole was separated by 0.001s between Antonelli and Verstappen, both drivers giving it their all through the streets. Leclerc however, slowed down on his first push lap leaving him struggling for his final laps.
However, he managed to get a flying lap in and popped it onto provisional pole before the final flying laps.
As the time came to a close on qualifying, what a chaotic end to Monaco Qualifying. Antonelli takes pole position away from Leclerc with Verstappen taking P2 and the Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton taking third.
As Leclerc was on his final flying lap, he hit the wall at Tabac and came to a stop on track at Rascasse.
Lando Norris abandon his final flying lap and pitted meaning he will start from P8 with teammate Oscar Piastri P7.
Will it be Kimi Antonelli who takes the win in tomorrow’s race or will the experience of them behind him be too much?
