After a chaotic sprint race yesterday, today is a new day and a new challenge for the riders.
After Marco Bezzecchi crashed on lap two yesterday, he started well and got away without anyone getting past him.
Marc Marquez had an alright start, but nowhere near the start he had yesterday. On lap two, the Trackhouse of Raul Fernandez managed to get past M Marquez and went chasing after Bezzecchi.
Pedro Acosta, Jorge Martin and M Marquez were battling for position throughout the race. Lap 10, M Marquez managed a double overtake on Acosta and Martin, allowing him to get back into third for a little while.
Lap 21, M Marquez went wide and ran over a serrated edge on a curb, which resulted in a flat tyre, meaning he had to retire from the race after running in 3rd-4th all race.
Brother Alex Marquez, crashed a lap after him at the same corner after dipping his tyre to the curb and going sideways towards the barrier.
The Trackhouse riders of Raul Fernandez and Ai Ogura managed a good weekend, with Fernandez getting two podiums and Ai Ogura scoring points.
Yamaha riders just can’t seem to get the bike in the right place, with both factory riders qualifying outside the top 10 and neither scoring points this weekend. It definitely seems like a weekend to forget for them.
The Aprilia of Marco Bezzecchi won the Thailand Grand Prix by 5.543seconds, with Pedro Acosta in second and Raul Fernandez third.
After Bezzecchi’s crash yesterday, Acosta still leads the championship with 32 points, Bezzecchi second with 25 points, and Fernandez in third with 23 points.
MotoGP’s next outing will be in Brazil 20th-22nd March for round two of the 2026 season.
Can Acosta hold on to the championship lead or will the pressure of more experienced riders get to him?
