Silly season is one of the most talked-about situations in motor racing, from drivers and riders signing new contracts to some moving teams unexpectedly. There is always something happening.

Lewis Hamilton shook the world by signing a contract with Ferrari at the start of the 2024 Formula One season. It was known as one of the biggest shock moves in history.

MotoGP is taking a leaf out of Formula One’s books, with Fabio Quartararo set to leave Yamaha and move to Honda

The Frenchman will leave Yamaha after agreeing on a deal with HRC Honda for 2027 and 2028. This marks the end of his relationship with Yamaha since 2019, where he had his debut.

Quartararo is the most recent world champion for Yamaha after claiming his championship in 2021.

2027 will mark a new chapter for MotoGP with new technical regulations coming into play, and riders are looking for teams they believe will help them win the next world championship.

Jorge Martin is also set to change teams from Aprilia Racing to Yamaha.

The 28-year-old, who missed most of the 2025 season due to injuries, had previously voiced his opinion to leave Aprilia due to the bike not suiting him, but chose to stay for the 2026 season.

Pedro Acosta is another rider set to move teams, with the Spaniard set to join world champions Ducati alongside world champion Marc Marquez.

The only issue with the move to Ducati for Acosta is where Francesco Bagnaia will be moving to and if the Italian has any connections left with the Italian team.

With the MotoGP season set to start at the end of this month in Thailand, riders will be looking to seal deals before the season starts to help there be less distractions coming their way.
